Doulton Lambeth 'Hunting Ware' Tobacco Jar

Description: Doulton started producing tobacco jars in the 1820s and early catalogue pages show relief-figured designs known as 'Hunting Ware' or 'Toby Ware'. These were offered in common clay or fine clay, in four different sizes ranging from 1/2 pint to 1 quart. This Doulton Lambeth stoneware 'Hunting Ware' tobacco jar has a selection of hunting and drinking motifs moulded around the edge. Impressed mark to base. c. 1891-1902
